Dr.
Stiernberg treats both adult and pediatric patients. His areas of
interest and experience include hearing loss, ear infections,
thyroid disease and surgery, sinus and allergy problems, voice and
swallowing disorders, and snoring and sleep apnea.
Dr. Stiernberg has been practicing medicine in the specialty of ear nose & throat since 1983. Born and raised in Galveston, Texas, he attended college at LSU in Baton Rouge and then UTMB at Galveston for medical school where he completed his internship and residency and stayed on the medical schIn 1991, his country called, and Dr. Stiernberg served as a US Navy doctor on board the Hospital Ship USS Comfort in the Persian Gulf War. After the war, he returned to Texas and became a professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Shortly thereafter, he became chairman of the department of ear nose & throat at the University as well as at Hermann Hospital and LBJ County Hospital.
Dr. Stiernberg has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the national organization of ear nose & throat doctors. He has been on the editorial board of numerous scientific journals, and has authored more than eighty scientific articles and book chapters. Presently, Dr. Stiernberg serves on the Texas Medical Board and is a member of the Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society.
